Volkswagen Canada Inc. will be introducing the 50th Anniversary Jetta GLI - a special model commemorating Volkswagen's fifty years in Canada.
Using the highly acclaimed VR6 engine, the 50th Anniversary Jetta GLI will offer a six-speed manual transmission. Built for ultimate driver control, the six-speed manual allows the driver to pick the perfect gear and rpm range for his or her driving style or situation. Uniquely, the six-speed offers two overdrives in fifth and sixth, allowing for optimal performance control and economy.
As expected, the 50th Anniversary Edition is dressed for performance. Standard equipment includes 17-inch alloy wheels, sport suspension, dual exhausts with chrome, 50th Anniversary badging, special cloth sports seats, a three spoke leather steering wheel, leather shift knob, boot and handbrake.
The GLI 50th Anniversary Edition comes with a powerful Monsoon stereo system as standard equipment. Electronic Stabilization Program (ESP) is also standard.
The warranty includes Volkswagen's limited powertrain coverage, which provides 5 years or 100,000 kms of protection. A bumper-to-bumper new vehicle warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship for 4 years or 80,000 km, which ever comes first. There is also a 12 year unlimited distance limited, warranty against corrosion perforation, and of course 24 hour roadside assistance for 4 years or 80,000 km, whichever comes first.
Colours will include Black, Reflex Silver, Galactic Blue, and Tornado Red. The 50th Anniversary Jetta GLI is now on sale. It will be priced at $31,150.
