Though BMW remained rather vague as to tech specs, they said the M5 would be powered by a rejuvenated twin-turbo V8 mated to a dual-clutch transmission linked to the rear wheels.

The car also boasts a braking system optimized for the vehicle’s weight, a rear locking differential that ensures greater stability and a start/stop system that improves fuel efficiency in urban settings.

Style-wise, the concept features large air intakes to increase air supply to the engine, advanced aerodynamics, Bi-Xenon headlamps and 20-inch wheels shod in 265/35 ZR20 tires up front and 265/35 ZR20 in back. The M5 also retains classic elements such as dual exhaust tips and the brand’s signature grille.

If BMW was looking to make mouths water, mission accomplished. We’ll definitely be on the lookout for the latest news on acceleration numbers, output and technologies pertaining to the M5.
