Petter Solberg has confirmed his interest in representing the rally world in Las Vegas for the $5M IndyCar race at the end of the 2011 season.
"I always wanted to try something like this," said the Norwegian to Autosport . "Competing at an event like this would be good fun.
"I have tested a Le Mans car and a Formula 1 car, so I don't think the driving challenge would be a problem for me," he added.
Series chief Randy Bernard said he would be interested in having a rally driver compete in the event. Solberg would be of the volunteers.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for F1 Champion Jacques Villeneuve has confirmed that discussions are ongoing with the series for a one-time return for the Indianapolis 500 and CART Champion at Vegas.
