WRC: Petter Solberg would consider a WTCC switch

Petter Solberg is not sure to secure a WRC seat for 2011, and is looking for other possibilities, including the World Touring Car Championship.

The Norvegian driver, who has run with his own private team for two years in WRC, have been offered a drive from Citroën, but he could not secure a budget for it.

"I know what I can do on the track, and that’s why I am looking at the WTCC," Solberg told the Autosport magazine. "At the moment, it’s tough in WRC, so I am exploring other possibilities and the biggest of those is the WTCC," he added.

Solberg would aim to test a WTCC car in the next month with a top team (probably Chevrolet since it is the only factory team in the championship). He  has already tested a Formula 1 and a LMP1 car in the past.
