Rumours linked him to Volkswagen's new rally project featuring the Polo. Well, not. Sebastien Loeb and Citroen Racing have announced that they will continue to work together.
The Citroen press release was sent on Wednesday noon. Loeb and Citroen will continue to compete together in the FIA World Rally Championship for two additional seasons.
Loeb started his career with Citroen in 2011. He will continue to race alongside his long-time co-driver Daniel Elena in a works Citroen DS3 WRC.
In the press release, Loeb mentioned: “With the arrival of other manufacturers in the championship, the competition is going to get tougher in the years to come. All the more so with the rule changes concerning the starting order coming in in 2012 as all the drivers will be fighting on a level playing field. To take the fight to them I’m putting my trust in Citroën, a team I know inside out and the DS3 WRC, the car that I helped set up with Citroën Racing.”
