WTCC: Chevrolet get their weight increased in 2012

By ,

Following their domination in last year’s WTCC championship, the Chevrolet Cruze has been given a 30 kg weight increase by the FIA for the 2012 season.

Chevrolet, the only factory entry in 2011, had no rival last season, with his drivers Yvan Muller, Rob Huff and Alain Menu finishing 1-2-3 in championship classification. As a consequence, the Chevrolet Cruze 1.6 liters turbo will get a weight increased from 1150 to 1180 kg in order to balance the performances with the other cars.

This decision will also apply to the non work Chevrolet Cruze, including the cars ran by team Bamboo Engineering.
