James Thompson will make his WTCC return during both races ran by Lada Sport this season, in Hungary and Portugal.
38-year-old Thompson was British Touring Car champion in 2002 and 2004 with Vauxhall. He participated to World Touring Car Championship from 2005 to 2009, taking four victories with an Alfa Roméo 156 and a Honda Accord Euro R.
In 2010 and 2011, the Brit competed selected races in BTCC, Scandinavian Touring Car championship, European championship, Sweden championship and Danish championship.
