Young 14-year old girl to race cars this season!

Following a successful career racing karts, young Italian girl Giada De Zen will make her debut in car racing this season at the tender age of just 14.

This season, the young girl will compete in the F4 Championship of Renault Eurocup 1.6.

The Renault Sport Technologies’ path to Formula 1 is more complete this season with the addition of a new category, created by Auto Sport Academy in collaboration with the French Federation FFSA.

The 1.6 Eurocup the F4 acts as the first step of the World Series by Renault ladder, which includes the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 and Formula Renault 3.5 Series.

De Zen is just at the age limit required to race this season 2010, and she will be the youngest competitor in the field.

The car that Auto Sport Academy will field in the championship is made of a high-tech carbon fiber monocoque chassis fitted with a 1.6-litre, 140-bhp Renault engine. The car is capable to reach a top speed of 215 km/h.

The season will begin on 17-18 April with a double header at circuit Motorland Aragon at Alcaniz in Spain.
