Andros Trophy: Alain Prost pulls away in front of the pack

Alain Prost (Dacia Duster) dominated day 2 in Alpe d’Huez, and has extended his lead in the point standings of the Andros Trophy ice racing series.

Prost, who was already the championship leader before his arrival in Alpe d’Huez, already took the advantage over his main rival, Jean-Philippe Dayraut (BMW Série 1) on day 1, as both men finsihed respectively 3rd and 5th.

On Saturday, the four-time Formula 1 world champion took  the overall victory at the end of day 2, finishing ahead of Skoda drivers Evens Stievenart and Franck Lagorce, while Dayraut secured only 6th position.

After a quite difficult first day, Jacques Villeneuve enjoyed the second day, where he took his best result since his debut in Andros Trophy.

The Canadian driver took 11th place overall after the qualifying rounds, then secured 4th position in his final heat.

Villeneuve concluded the day in 11th place, and reached top 10 in provisional championship classification for the first time.

Andros Trophy will resume on January 7th and 8th in Isola 2000.
