After the launch of the 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 series, Chrysler is presenting the heavy-duty 2500, 3500 and 4500-series pickups.

The Ram Heavy-duty is recognizable by its bigger hood, front grille and bumper. Offered in Regular Cab, Crew Cab, Mega Cab and chassis-cab configurations, two engines will be available underfoot.

The Ram 2500 gets the 5.7-litre HEMI V8 that produces 400 hp and 383 lb-ft, which is mated to a 5-speed automatic. 3500-series pickups get a 6.7-litre Cummins turbodiesel inline-6 that produces 350 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque while bolted to a 6-speed manual.

3500 chassis-cabs get the HEMI, while 4500 and 5500 trucks receive the Cummins turbodiesel inline-6 that develops 305 hp and 610 lb-ft of torque.

Properly-equipped, the Ram Heavy-Duty can tow up to 18,500 lbs, or 8,391 kg. TRX4 and Power Wagon editions will also be available, and the chassis-cab models get a massive 196-litre fuel tank.
