The fledgling automaker plans to add several models to a lineup currently featuring only three models

Hyundai’s luxury division Genesis has confirmed that it will present a significant new model at the New York Auto Show later this week.

Already in the works at Genesis is an electric concept vehicle, but this will be something else. Most likely we’ll be introduced to an SUV of some form. The plan at the company has always been to follow up the initial three sedans with SUVs models, and that’s where we’re at now.

It’s expected, more specifically, that the newest Genesis will be an evolution of the GV80 prototype first unveiled at the New York show in 2017.

The teaser released by the company takes the form of a short video on Facebook, which shows a gradual zoom out of traffic in Manhattan. Sufficient to convey the message that the launch will take place at the NYC show this week…

The electric concept in development will also be on display at the event. Chances are it will be an evolution of the Essentia concept that was introduced at the same event last year.

There will be third vehicle at the Genesis stand as well. The revised flagship G90 sedan is making its North American debut after premiering in South Korea last November.

There will be no shortage of goodies at the Genesis kiosk, in short. We’ll be on hand for course for the presentations and to take photos. Check back with us often on Wednesday and Thursday for all the news!
