Yet another new model and new vehicle class have been debuted at the Montreal Auto Show. The all-new Kia Soul was presented today at its Canadian debut, and the automaker says their so-called 'urban crossover' line will offer shoppers a small, expressive, efficient and stylish machine to keep up with a busy schedule.

"The new Soul and the concept cars unveiled here today illustrate the evolution of the Kia brand", says Maria Soklis, Senior Director of Operations at Kia Canada Inc. "Our full product line-up merges great design, quality, efficiency and safety for a truly exciting and enabling experience in our vehicles."

The highly customizable Soul is set to launch next month in Canadian dealerships. On our shores, it will be offered with 122 or 142 horsepower, as well as standard ABS disc brakes and stability control.

Owners can specify such goodies as sound-sensitive mood lighting, stereo upgrades, and a multitude of color combinations. Soul will come in base, 2u, 4u, 4u Retro and Burner trim levels- each of which offers special equipment and styling accents to set it apart.

Kia also presented a Soul Hybrid model, which features a hybridized 1.6 liter engine and CVT transmission. Kia says that the Soul Hybrid is indicative of where their substantial investment in future technologies is going, and that the Soul Hybrid concept is an indicator of future production targets.

Kia's Koup concept was also on hand to give showgoers a glimpse into future of the Korean brand's styling.
