MINI recently unveiled its redesigned new logo, featuring new typography and more streamlined styling. The company also announced that it intends on focusing on 5 specific models in its lineup of vehicles: the MINI 3-door, the MINI 5-door, the MINI Clubman, the MINI Countryman and the MINI Cabrio. The MINI Paceman is set to disappear from the manufacturer’s roster in the coming months. On the horizon as well is the new MINI Cooper plug-in hybrid model, currently in development.
A recent press release by MINI outlined the company’s philosophy of streamlining its products and catalogue to focus on the essentials. MINI has also embarked with partners on the creation of lifestyle products, namely apparel and home products. MINI Living, for example, is a highly configurable 30-sq-metre modular apartment developed in partnership with Japanese design firm ON Design. MINI is also collaborating in the presentation of a line of men’s apparel “capsule” creations at the biannual Pitti Uomo salon in Florence, Italy.
