The home of this event is the famous Canary Wharf development site, a 97-acre business park situated in the old Docklands area of London. Once upon a time, it housed the likes of Fagin, Bill Sykes and the Artful Dodger. Nowadays, the only constant that remains is the inhabitants' quest for money.

Yes, the dirty and often dangerous part of the city that was once home to the city's poorest inhabitants has been transformed into one of the most impressive financial/business districts in the world. It is the type of area where Bentleys and Ferraris are almost commonplace.

Built by the Reichmann brothers from Canada, it now houses many world famous corporations, banks and newspaper chains. It could, in fact, be termed "the" place to do business in London.

So, if you want to showcase and sell vehicles, what better than to take one's products to where the country's movers and shakers congregate?

That is precisely the reasoning behind this event, and why it has become so successful over the years. In fact, the idea has caught the world's attention now to the point where the organizers announced yesterday that they shall be holding a similar-style show in New York City next year.

This is rather exciting news for the North American automotive industry and I actually witnessed the official signing of the agreement between the organizers of Motorexpo 07 and the representatives from New York's world famous "money center".

The organizers surprised us all with style by having a white Aston Martin draped in the Union Jack sitting beside an equally impressive Ron Fellows edition Corvette. The signing officers actually signed the hoods of both vehicles to signify the closing of the deal.

Of course, London, like New York, is known as a "happening city" and you would expect an event like this to go all out to impress and wow its visitors (over 350,000 expected this year). There were many such displays, in fact, too many to mention in an article such as this, so I will highlight just a few which impressed me.

Naturally The Tower at One Canada Place, the tallest building in Britain, was a sight to see in itself, but when you add in a foyer full of exotic vehicles, including the new Bentley Brooklands, it becomes even more impressive.
