Environmentally-friendly all-season tires are a strong trend going into 2011. These models enhance fuel economy and reduce emissions with their lower rolling resistance. Durability compares favourably to the average conventional all-season tire.

Of course, these green tires are primarily available as all-season models since their tread designs and compound stiffness are not on par with performance tires.

The team at PMCtire.com came up with a list of the main new all-season tires to help you identify them. We also highlighted their top features as described by their manufacturers.

Continental – ProContact EcoPlus
The ProContact EcoPlus is an environmentally-friendly all-season tire for cars and, to some extent, SUVs.

Continental launched the ProContact EcoPlus as a green tire offering low rolling resistance and improved fuel economy without compromising braking distances on wet pavement.

Available tire sizes range from 15 to 18 inches. Most of them can already be purchased in Canada.

Nokian – eNTYRE
The eNTYRE is an environmentally-friendly all-season tire for cars and, to some extent, SUVs. It was officially introduced in 2010, but stocks were very limited in Canada.

Nokian also describes the eNTYRE as a tire offering low rolling resistance and improved fuel economy. It is manufactured using only low aromatic, purified oils. These purified oils keep the tire from polluting the environment as it gradually wears down.

Available tire sizes range from 14 to 19 inches. Most of them can already be purchased in Canada.
