Some of the products presented in NYC are destined for beautiful careers

Even though it’s at the end of the major auto show cycle, the New York International always brings a few nice surprises. 2018 was no different, with a nice selection of both world debuts and North American debuts. Here are the highlights.

Volkswagen Atlases
Yep, you read that right: that’s “Atlases”, plural. VW chose the New York show to debut both its Tanoak pickup and Cross Sport. The latter is a five-seater version of the original Atlas that debuted in 2017, but here it gets a plug-in hybrid powertrain good for 355 hp and a claimed 26 miles (about 42 km) of all-EV driving. The Tanoak, meanwhile, gets a 5-foot bed, 4Motion AWD and V6 TFSI power. It also rides higher than does the Atlas.
