Toyota chose the 2015 Tokyo Auto Show to pay tribute to all the sports cars it developed and launched over the years, from the S800 of the 1960s to the 2000GT and current GT86 (a.k.a. Scion FR-S in North America).
The new Toyota S-FR concept is an entry-level model that could rival the iconic Mazda MX-5. This small, 4-passenger coupe with rear-wheel drive and a front engine has a 6-speed manual transmission, a long nose with a wide stance, and bright yellow paint. It is only 3.99 metres long and weighs just 980 kilograms.
Will the S-FR concept enter production? And if so, where will it be sold? These questions remain unanswered.
