An 8-year old rally driver! Here’s a video of what should be the youngest ever rally driver. The kid is only 8 years old but he drives like a pro.
Finland’s Kalle Rovanperä, the driver in the video, is the son of Finnish rally driver Harri Rovanperä. Harri was a very good rally driver himself, having competed in the FIA World Rally Championship between 1993 and 2006 with works teams such as Seat, Peugeot , Mitsubihsi and Skoda. He even won the Rally of Sweden behind the wheel of a works Peugeot 206 WRC. He has modified a Toyota Starlet rally car with a special seat to accommodate the small frame of his son Kalle. We can see that the 8-year old is extremely talented and controls the rear-wheel drive car with ease on loose ground and even ice. Kalle Rovanperä is too young to compete in official events, but he will continue to test extensively before he takes the start of his first rally in a few years. Watch out Kimi Räikkönen, Kalle is coming! |
