F1: Where is Mike Coughlan? The new web site of Stefan GP is full of very interesting information. For example, the site is asking for Formula 1 fans to support the Serbian team’s effort to be part of the 2011 F1 World Championship.
The team has organised a contest that asks fans to write “WE WANT SGP” at the craziest places possible. The overall winner will win a trip all expenses paid to Stefan GP’s maiden race, according the team is allowed to compete next year. But what’s more interesting is the photo that appears on the right hand of the page. Identified as “The Stefan GP Team” it shows team owner Zoran Stefanovic with two engineers. It should be mentioned that it is a photos that has been Photoshopped to remove Mike Coughlan.
In an article we posted on March 5. Auto123.com pointed out that hiring Coughlan was a costly mistake for the Serbian team. Coughlan is the disgraced McLaren designer who was one pivotal personage in the infamous spy gate that raged between McLaren and Ferrari in 2007. It is certain that several influencial people in F1 did not really appreciate to see Stefanovic hire Coughlan. Seeing how the photo has been modified, one can only assume that either Coughlan is no longer a member of the team, or he is still part of it but has to hide. |
