The new Panoz G-Force Indy Racing League car has been unveiled, with the
first chassis delivered to Chip Ganassi Racing.
The racer, which will also be run in 2003 by Mo Nunn Racing and AJ Foyt Racing
was designed at the company's UK base and built in Georgia, USA.
Panoz G-Force president Tony Mastandrea said: "Our team has worked very
hard in the windtunnel to ensure the speed our car showed in qualifying at Indy
last year is repeated throughout the entire IRL schedule."
David Bowes, boss of parent company Elan Motor Sport Technologies, hopes that
beating rivals Dallara and Falcon to delivering the new car to its customers
will give them a small advantage in testing development.
"Both Chip Ganassi and Mo Nunn won races with our car in 2002 and we would
love to see AJ Foyt join these teams in the winner's circle in 2003," he
said.
"We are in negotiations with several new customers and hope to be able to
announce some further additions to the Panoz G-Force roster in the near
future."
Ganassi drivers Scott Dixon and Tomas Scheckter are due to give the car its
track debut at the Texas Motor Speedway next week.
