Villeneuve Excited About Formula E
Former F1 champion Jacques Villeneuve is pumped about the upcoming Formula E season, which he officially joined this week as part of the Venturi team. Speaking after a day of testing at Donington Park in England, the Canadian driver expressed his unhappiness at having missed the first season of the fledgling circuit, and said he is looking forward to renewing with street-course racing.
Services Planned for Buddy Baker
Funeral service planning is underway for NASCAR racing legend Buddy Baker, who passed away on Monday following a battle with lung cancer. A service is scheduled for next week Tuesday in Charlotte, North Carolina. The exceptionally tall Baker earned the nickname Gentle Giant during his long career that spanned the 1970s and parts of the 1980s. He gained 19 victories in what is now known as Sprint Cup.
Penske to Bring In Pigot for IndyCar Test
Team Penske is offering Spencer Pigot a test run at Sonoma Speedway this week. The 21-year-old Indy Lights driver will join Nelson Piquet Jr. in a test, a reward perhaps for the rookie driver’s great run that includes four wins and second place overall in the Indy Lights circuit. His 2015 season is following on the heels of a 2014 Pro Mazda title and a successful stint in the USF 2000 series.
