Depuis ce matin, les médias québécois publient de fausses informations sur l'état de santé du pilote australien Ryan Briscoe, tant sur internet qu'à la télévision. Il s'agit d'une erreur de traduction d'un article publié sur le site internet de Chip Ganassi Racing. Ils ont traduit "critical care unit" par "état critique". En fait... Briscoe sortira de cette unité des soins intensifs d'ici demain soir pour regagner une chambre privée et sortira de l'hôpital d'ici une semaine... Voici la vérité :
Briscoe Continues on Road to Recovery; Team Target Tickled Pink as IndyCar Season Draws to a Close
INDIANAPOLIS (September 16, 2005) – Target Chip Ganassi Racing’s 23-year-old Australian IndyCar rookie driver Ryan Briscoe (no.33 Target Toyota) continues to progress in his road to recovery after a spectacular incident last Sunday at Chicagoland Speedway.
Since arriving at Indianapolis’ Methodist Hospital Monday afternoon, Briscoe underwent further evaluation and treatment by Dr. Scott Bjerke, Dr. Terry Trammell and Dr. Kevin Sheid, with the assistance of Indy Racing League medical personnel.
Briscoe sustained a concussion, two broken collarbones, a bruised lung and contusions to his legs and arms. He also has a tiny fracture to a small bone in his right foot and several contusions on his back. All injuries are expected to heal without requiring further treatment or surgery. Briscoe is expected to be transferred out of the critical care unit this weekend where he was being treated for breathing difficulties stemming from the inhalation of heat and vapors during the incident. He is expected to make a full recovery and should be released from hospital early next week.
Based on Briscoe’s current condition, the team plans to campaign a two-car effort for each of the final two races of the 2005 IndyCar season at Watkins Glen and California Speedway.
Team Target will again have 2003 Series Champion Scott Dixon behind the wheel of the no.9 Target Toyota next Sunday at Watkins Glen International, and reassuming his road course specialist role for the team will be Giorgio Pantano in the no.10 Target Toyota.
The IndyCar season finale will be a special one for Target Chip Ganassi Racing as they put the finishing touches on the 2005 docket in Fontana with both cars decorated in special pink Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) livery– acknowledging October as Breast Cancer Awareness month. Dixon will again pilot the no.9 Target Toyota, with Jaques Lazier returning in the no.10 Target Toyota to complete the Target oval tandem.
Previously, the team proudly displayed the BCRF paint scheme on Dixon’s IndyCar at Fontana last season. The effort was complemented by a pink no.41 Target Dodge driven by Casey Mears in the team’s NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series effort throughout the entire month of October– a five-race stretch the no.41 Dodge will run again next month, starting at Talladega and running through Atlanta.
To support the effort, Target stores and Chip Ganassi Racing will each feature a special pink product line, contributing 100% of proceeds to the BCRF.
Target Chip Ganassi Racing returns to action next Sunday, September 25th at the IndyCar Series debut at Watkins Glen for the penultimate round of the 17-race IRL season. Target fans can tune in to watch the Watkins Glen Indy Grand Prix presented by Argent Mortgage on ABC at 3:30 pm (EDT), or listen in on the IMS Radio Network.
