It looks as if Pedro de la Rosa will be without a race seat next year also. Neither his race in Bahrain (as a replacement for injured Juan Pablo Montoya) nor his good performances in Friday's practice sessions will change something about that. However, the Spaniard doesn't give up until the next season starts.
He does not think his performances are a reason. "When looking at my telemetry data in comparison to Kimi (Räikkönen) and Juan Pablo (Montoya), I do not have to be jealous", the Spaniard is quoted as saying by 'Marca'. "But I am surprised to not have a cockpit for next year, I don't understand it."
According to de la Rosa, one door has been closed already: BMW. He had tried to get the cockpit alongside Nick Heidfeld, obviously without success. "BMW is keeping Villeneuve", he names as the reason for the discussions' failure.
