Currently Mitsubishi produces two Galants, a large one designed, built and sold in the U.S. and smaller one that’s both older and narrower sold in Japan, Asia and Europe. Inside Line is reporting that Mitsubishi is planning an all-new Galant for 2008 that will replace both these models and be smaller than the one sold in the U.S. now. The good news for North America is that this global Galant will be sourced exclusively out of the U.S. and be assembled most likely in the company’s Normal, Illinois plant. Mitsubishi has refused to confirm the report, which really isn’t a denial. Perhaps the company is planning to sprinkle some of the EVO’s flavor on the next Galant.
