Un clône du Durango  Espérons qu'il sera plus fiable que la défunte Dodge Aspen   Rien pour inquiéter les Escalades et Navigator de ce monde.

Detroit, Michigan - Chrysler's first SUV, a restyled version of the Dodge Durango, is a luxury SUV that's "loaded with premium features" but due to its available 5.7-litre V8 Hemi engine with MDS (cylinder de-activation system) "offers customers guilt-free indulgence", said Jeff Bell, Vice President - Chrysler, Chrysler Group.
Compared to other large SUVs, the 2007 Chrysler Aspen is more fuel-efficient and manoeuvrable, and compared to full-size SUVs, the Chrysler Aspen features more interior passenger space and cargo room, coupled with unmatched towing and hauling capability (8,950 lb), said the company.
Premium features include interior LED lighting, express-up windows, a full-screen navigation radio, heated first- and second-row seats, and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system. In addition, a new one-touch lane-change feature allows the driver to quickly activate a three-blink turn signal when changing lanes.
The instrument panel cluster features a large, centrally located speedometer and white-faced gauges outlined in chromed trim, providing easy-to-read displays for fuel, oil, volt/battery, odometer and speedometer readings. The centre stack features Chrysler brand's signature analog clock and an available full-screen navigation radio and temperature controls for front and rear occupants.
It's available with a second-row 40/20/40 split bench seat or second-row heated bucket seats, each providing 11-degree reclining seat backs. Second-row bucket seats include a centre console with dual cup holders, covered storage area and adjustable air outlets. The second- and third-row seats feature ample leg, shoulder and hip room and fold flat.
A flip-down, roof-mounted DVD screen is available for rear-seat occupants and a theatre-style surround-sound audio system comes complete with eight Infinity speakers. An available power rear liftgate opens with the touch of a button to provide easy loading and unloading of gear. In addition, rear doors open 84 degrees to provide passengers with easy entry and exit. The Aspen has 68.4 cu. ft. of cargo room with the third-row seats folded.
Safety and security features include Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Electronic Roll Mitigation (ERM), ParkSense, Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) system and side-curtain air bags for all three rows.
The Aspen's standard powertrain is a 235-horsepower 4.7-litre V8 engine with 300 lb.-ft. of torque. The optional 5.7-litre Hemi V8 engine - featuring the fuel-saving Multi-displacement System (MDS) - delivers 335 horsepower and 370 lb.-ft. of torque. The Hemi V8 engine seamlessly alternates between four-cylinder mode and eight-cylinder mode. The Aspen provides best-in-class power and torque, according to Chrysler, and for added capability, the Aspen offers two optional 4x4 systems.
Both the 4.7-litre and 5.7-litre V8 engines are mated to five-speed automatic transmissions. When towing, a "Tow/Haul" transmission reduces gear searching by holding the lower gear longer. The system will also select a lower gear under downhill conditions in order to utilize the engine's braking capability.
The 2007 Chrysler Aspen will be available in the Fall of 2006.
