Albertans spend the most on vehicles, analyst says
Richmond Hill, Ontario - Overall, Albertans spend the most for their vehicles, with an average of $35,719, while Ontario pays the most for passenger cars and Manitoba the highest for trucks, reports industry analyst Dennis DesRosiers.
Alberta's highest average is due to a high number of truck purchases, versus the rest of Canada, and its passenger car market is "quite upscale as well," DesRosiers reports. Ontario has the highest average price for passenger cars, at $26,737, while Manitoba pays a high of $42,009 for trucks.
For passenger vehicles overall, the Canadian average is $32,210; the provincial breakdown for 2005 purchases is:
