Hyundai Auto Canada Breaks Top 5 for Passenger Car Sales in the Month of July
Hyundai Auto Canada has continued its success, selling 5,509 passenger cars and moving up to 5th position ahead of Chrysler for the month of July. General Motors, Honda, Toyota and Ford were the only manufactures in the nation to sell more passenger cars than Hyundai this month. Market share is also on the increase as Hyundai achieved 7.5% in the month of July. This number represents the incredible sales increase which Hyundai achieved, as sales in July were up 64.2% over the same time period last year. Year-to-date July market share for Hyundai stands at 6.3%, up almost 2% from last year's number of 4.4%.
These incredible sales results can be attributed to many factors, especially the new product line-up for 2001, which includes the Santa Fe, XG300 and all new Elantra. As well, Hyundai Dealers across the nation are becoming more aggressive and building new facilities or improving existing ones. The brand image now being portrayed through advertising is also part of the success Hyundai is experiencing.
Steve Kelleher, Vice President of Sales, Marketing, Parts and Service states, "2001 has been an incredible year for Hyundai Auto Canada, and every month we are reporting new achievements. In April, the Tiburon hit a record high, with 570 vehicles sold. The Elantra and Accent set sales records in the month of May with 1,890 and 3,080 vehicles sold respectively.
In June and July Hyundai finished 2nd in the province of Quebec for passenger car sales.
Overtaking Chrysler for 5th position in the month of July was an incredible achievement and everyone involved with Hyundai Auto Canada should be very proud to be involved with this".

Quebec is the second largest province in Canada and is home to 7.4 million Canadians. French is the primary language spoken, and Quebec is still very much influenced by the European culture, which can be evidenced by the unique architecture, found around the province.
