DETROIT, Mich.--Today at a Press Conference at the New York International Auto Show Richard Wagoner, CEO of General Motors announced that Saab, HUMMER, Cadillac, and GMC would be getting variants of the new and upcoming Crossover Sport Vans (CSV). “We think that the CSV’s made a big hit at this years North American International Auto Show, and because of that we are extending the lineup to include HUMMER, Saab, GMC, and Cadillac variants”, explained Wagoner. “The CSV’s are a benchmark and a first in the automotive industry”, added Wagoner.
The Saab 9-8x will feature several CSV exclusives, including two-tone leather seating surfaces, a full length sunroof, and a 3.5-Liter V6 like the other CSV’s, but with five extra horsepower, raising it to 205-hp, 220 lb-ft torque. The 9-8x will be positioned just below the Cadillac CSV, making it a strong contender in the minivan market. It will also build to Saab’s growing portfolio along with the new 9-7x Sport Utility Vehicle.
The Cadillac SXT will certainly be a first in the luxury market. The SXT is positioned to bring more young families to Cadillac, featuring; a DVD-Based Navigation System and 10” LCD Rear Entertainment System in both the second and third row seats. It will also feature a high-output 3900 3.9-Liter V6 Powertrain, with specifications to be announced.
The GMC Carryall is going to be the “Professional Grade” CSV. It will feature many options like the added CSV’s, but with a Professional touch. It will have an optional All Wheel Drive system. It will also have the option of only two rows of seats, allowing for more cargo for the commercial customer. Also it will feature several different color options and 18” wheels.
The HUMMER CSV will be named the H3V. Not only will it be a first for HUMMER, but I first in the industry. This CSV will be for the off-roading, young family. Featuring Four Wheel Drive and all the ruggedness of the H2 and upcoming H3. As noticeable the H3W features all of the HUMMER styling traits seen is other HUMMER vehicles.
