Kelley Blue Book names 2005 vehicles to best hold their value

Irvine, CA - With 2005 model year vehicles arriving at dealers or soon to arrive, the editors of US-based Kelly Blue Book have made their predictions for the top ten 2005 vehicles most likely to hold their value over the next five years. Although depreciation is inevitable, some vehicles lose more than others. To retain the most of your investment KBB editors suggest consumers consider the following vehicles:

Acura TL
BMW 5 Series
Infiniti G35 Coupe
Lexus GX 470
Mazda RX-8
Mercedes Benz CLK 320 Cabriolet
MINI Cooper
Nissan 350 Z
Porsche Cayenne
Volvo XC90

By category:
SEDAN: Honda Civic
COUPE: Infiniti G35
CONVERTIBLE: Nissan 350 Z Touring Roadster
WAGON: Volkswagen Jetta Wagon TDI*
HATCHBACK: MINI Cooper
LUXURY: BMW 5 Series
PICKUP: Toyota Tacoma PreRunner
VAN/MINIVAN: Honda Odyssey

Predictions are based on current vehicle data, US market conditions for each vehicle, expectations of the future economy and the combined experience of Kelley Blue Book's editorial team.
Some vehicles didn't make the top ten list, but came close. These include the Chevrolet Corvette, the Mazda 3 Hatchback and the Volkswagen GTI. And some vehicles are predicted to depreciate much faster than others because they have a low perceived value, a reputation for high maintenance costs or low demand in the marketplace. According to KBB, this includes the Pontiac Aztec, Chrysler Sebring Sedan, Jaguar X-Types, Mitsubishi Diamante, Mercury Sable (US only) and the Suzuki Vitara.
