October 2004

Chevrolet says it will offer a warranty for five years or 60,000 miles on the engine and transmission of its new Chevrolet Cobalt small car, which goes on sale later this fall.

The Cobalt will be available as a coupe or sedan in six different trim levels. Pricing for both the sedan and coupe begins at $14,190, Chevy said in a news release.

The powertrain warranty matches the warranty available with Chevrolet's other small car: the entry-level subcompact Aveo.

Earlier this month, another General Motors division, Saturn, began offering an extended "bumper-to-bumper" warranty of five years or 60,000 miles on its 2005 model-year Saturn vehicles.
