New Dodge Caliber to replace Neon/2.0SX
Geneva, Switzerland - Dodge revealed the Caliber concept car in Geneva today, the probable replacement for the 2.0SX/Neon compact sedan. It will be sold in North America in 2006, and in Europe where the Dodge brand is new to the market.
DaimlerChrysler says the Caliber would appeal to "buyers looking for a compact car that stands out from the crowd and gives them the flexibility to do more in terms of seating friends and storing gear."
"This concept is a new slant on one of the world's most competitive segments," said Trevor Creed, Senior Vice President-Design, Chrysler Group. "The Dodge Caliber concept brings emotion to the C-segment sea of sameness and strongly hints at the future direction of Dodge in the global car market."
The Caliber features a large Dodge 'crosshair' grille, sculpted fenders, 19-inch wheels and tires, and bulging hood. A black graphic appliqué runs the length of the roof and melds into an integrated spoiler, creating a coupe-like quality from the side view.
The rear view features a black roof spoiler with centre high-mounted stop lamp, chrome exhaust tail pipe, and large, modular crystal taillamps that fill the Caliber's rear corners.
