DaimlerChrysler announces pricing for 2006 Jeep Commander

Windsor, Ontario - DaimlerChrysler Canada announced pricing for the new 2006 Jeep Commander SUV. The base Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) is $40,865. The Jeep Commander will arrive in dealerships later this summer.

The Jeep Commander comes standard with a 3.7-litre V6 engine or optional 4.7-litre V8 mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. Also available on the Limited model is the 5.7-litre Hemi V8 engine with the Multi-Displacement System (MDS), which improves fuel economy by as much as 20 percent. The MSRP for Limited models equipped with the 5.7-litre Hemi V8 is $51,055.

The Commander has three rows of stadium-style seats and comes equipped with many advanced safety technologies including standard side-curtain air bags covering all three rows, roll-over sensors and standard Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with electronic roll mitigation. Other standard safety features include advanced multi-stage driver and front passenger air bags with Occupant Classification System, an advanced Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS), Brake Assist, all-speed Traction Control System (TCS) and ParkSense Rear Park Assist Detection System.

The 2006 Jeep Commander is built at Chrysler Group's Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit, Michigan, joining the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
