The worlds most instantly-recognizable eco-warrior just got a bit better. For 2008, the Toyota Prius will bring even more value to the atmospherically responsible Canadian customer, offering up new standard features like a self-dimming rearview mirror, 16-inch alloy wheels, a spoiler and fog lamps. Also included are seat mounted and side airbags, for additional safety.

Stephen Beatty, Managing Director of Toyota Canada Inc., says "Increasingly, Canadians are looking for ways to make things better for the planet, and they are choosing to do business with companies offering environmentally responsible products. Toyota Canada's fuel-efficient, low-emissions vehicles offer them a choice in which they do not have to compromise in terms of style and performance. The federal and provincial governments, too, have stepped forward to support these vehicles through incentives and rebates".

Two option packages are available to help customize the Prius to the needs of specific customers. The Special Edition Premium Package adds Vehicle Stability Control, a premium stereo system, Smart Key access, a back-up camera and Bluetooth capability for the equipped cellular phones. A navigation package adds all the same features as listed above, as well as a DVD-based navigation system.

The value-enhanced 2008 Prius goes on sale today and carries a sticker price of $29,500.
