Daytime Running Lights: Study Shows 8.8-Percent Reduction in Crash Risk : Daytime running lights of a Kia K5
A recent study showed that daytime running lights, or DRLs, do what they were designed to do: make roads safer. Specifically, it found that the presence of DRLs have reduced crash risk by 8.8 percent. At speeds over 75 km/h and at dawn and dusk, daytime running lights reduce the risk by almost 25 percent.
