A dynamic vehicle control system called Precision Control System (PCS) is the big news on the Oldsmobile Intrigue for 2000, but it's not the only news.

PCS should contribute to the 4-door sedan's already solid reputation for ride and handling, since it will keep the car under control on surfaces with minimal traction by applying exactly the right brake to correct whatever dangerous condition is happening.

As well as the sensors and electronics necessary to make the system work, the PCS package (which is available on all levels of Intrigue -- GX, GL and GLS) also includes a 3.29 axle ratio and H-rated performance tires. It will be available early in 2000, GM of Canada says.

Other new features on the more expensive Intrigue (more on that in a minute) include retained accessory power (so you can close the windows when the key is removed), new painted 16" aluminum wheels on GL and GLS models, new optional chrome wheels, heated seats on the leather package of GLS, gold wheel emblems on the Gold Accent Package, and a PCS Sterling Edition on the GLS trim.

For 2000, there are two new metallic exterior colors (Navy Blue and Redfire), while sable replaces tan as the interior color.
