Auto123.com has been serving car buyers and car enthusiasts alike since 1996. From the outset, Auto123.com's reason for being was to inform and educate consumers. Over time, we like to think we’ve become an indispensable resource for Canadians engaged in the car-buying process.
While we achieved our goal of becoming a reference in the Canadian automotive media landscape, we thought we could do more. Regularly faced with questions like "What is the best compact car this year?" we decided to take our experience and put it to good use. In 2009, the powers that be at Auto123.com created what was simply to be known as the Auto123.com Awards.
These are not your run-of-the-mill awards. The Auto123.com Awards are the complete package. We painstakingly revise a list of suitable vehicles every year, classify them into categories, and then pick our favourites. All vehicles sold and available in Canada prior to November 1st of the year in question are eligible for consideration for an award.
As the automotive market has never been more varied or offered up as many nameplates, we thought it important to carefully identify each segment and give every model the proper opportunity to shine. As you can see, we've got every angle covered.
Across Canada, our panel of contributors and staff members test drive vehicles on a regular basis and this allows them to vote and dole out points to their favourites in each category. This ensures that what rise to the top are the best of the best, whether the models are all-new or months old.
We feel that the annual Auto123.com Awards are comprehensive, accessible and easy to understand like no other currently in existence in Canada.
In early November of each year Auto123.com publishes a list of finalists, three per category. You can check out the most recent list by clicking on the “CATEGORIES AND FINALISTS” tab.
Near the end of November, Auto123.com announces the grand winner in each category at a special awards ceremony.
