The F-150 has been lord of the manor among full-size light-duty trucks for so long, you’d almost think it rakes in awards like this by sheer default. Not so, insists KBB, and to prove that it points to the model’s best-in-class towing abilities, available efficient hybrid powertrain and other innovative tech to explain why Ford has been able to stay ahead of the competition year after year.
This is the seventh time the F-150 takes home the Best Buy award for this category.
What KBB liked:
- The EcoBoost V6 engine, and the hybrid powertrain
- New 14th generation improves on a very, very good previous generation
- The Pro Power Onboard, which allows the truck to be used as a mobile generator
- Work capabilities not impacted by the surfeit of tech
- Quiet, well-insulated ride
- Perfectly tuned suspension to make it a versatile transporter
- Comfortable and roomy interior
