2027 Hyundai Tucson Gets Radically New Styling, High-Tech Interior Hyundai isn’t shy about transforming its compact SUV for each new generation; it’s doing so again for 2027.

Hyundai has pulled the virtual sheet off its fifth-generation 2027 Tucson, signaling another dramatic stylistic evolution for the compact SUV. Drawing heavy visual inspiration from the 2027 Elantra but also from the rugged Crater concept unveiled at the latest Montreal Auto Show , the new Tucson completely abandons the softer curves of its predecessor in favour of an assertive, blocky aesthetic.

For starters, the vehicle has grown in nearly every dimension. Overall length increases by 60 mm to 4,700 mm, the wheelbase gains 30 mm to reach 2,785 mm and the body widens by 40 mm to 1,905 mm.

There’s more exterior, simply put, and it is defined by boxy wheel arches, deeply sculpted geometric side panels and sharp LED light strips arranged in a wide H pattern across both the front and rear fascias.

Hyundai also confirmed the return of the off-road-inspired XRT trim, featuring even more aggressive front bumper styling and dark body cladding.

Inside, the cabin undergoes an equally significant transformation centered around Hyundai’s new Pleos Connect digital ecosystem. The previous generation’s dual curved displays have been replaced by a large tablet-style central infotainment touchscreen, expected to measure up to 17 inches on top-tier models. It’s complemented by a slim digital instrument cluster set high near the windshield line.

Physical switchgear is drastically reduced, but not eliminated, with essential hard buttons remaining below the screen. The multi-tiered centre console features dual wireless phone chargers, while the extended roofline and wider rear door openings now pivot up to 83 degrees. They open into a second row offering a 29-mm increase in headroom.

Powertrain of the 2027 Hyundai Tucson

Hyundai is mum on this for now; we can expect some information to dribble out and then to get the full shebang when the 2027 Tucson is unveiled for the globe in October.

The smart money, however, has the lineup retaining gasoline-only, hybrid and plug-in hybrid options, with electric-assisted variants likely to receive efficiency and range upgrades to remain competitive against rival offerings. There is continued speculation was well about a 300-hp high-performance Tucson N variant being on the way at some point.

Sales of the 2027 Hyundai Tucson are slated to begin in early 2027, with pricing and regional trim specifications expected closer to its market arrival.
