Nissan is expanding its flagship full-size SUV lineup for the 2027 model-year, introducing a new Dark Armor grade designed to bring a more aggressive, stealthy aesthetic to the brand’s big SUV.
This follows just a month or so after Nissan introduced a Dark Armor variant for its 2027 Murano SUV .
Where is the 2027 Nissan Armada assembled?
The Nissan Armada sold in Canada is assembled at Nissan's plant in Kanda, Kyushu, Japan. Note that other variants of the SUV will debut in Canada this autumn, before the new Dark Armor arrives sometime in the new year.
2027 Nissan Armada – What’s new?
Building on the base SL trim, the new Dark Armor model features a black and dark chrome treatment across the exterior. The roof rails, window trim, front grille and lower fascia are all finished in darkened tones, complemented by black 20-inch alloy wheels and blacked-out exterior badging.
Inside, the cabin receives black upholstery, a panoramic moonroof and matching dark accents across the dashboard, steering wheel and centre console.
Powertrain of the 2027 Nissan Armada
Under the hood, the Armada relies on a twin-turbocharged, direct-injected 3.5L V6 engine delivering 425 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, providing a standard towing capacity of up to 8,500 lb.
For off-road enthusiasts, the rugged PRO-4X trim adds an electronic locking rear differential, Adaptive Electronic Air Suspension, all-terrain tires and advanced terrain camera systems like Invisible Hood View.
The performance-focused NISMO variant turns up the output to 460 hp (on premium fuel), paired with NISMO-tuned suspension, upgraded brakes, and a sports exhaust.
The 2027 Nissan Armada arrives at Canadian dealerships this fall with a starting MSRP of $85,998 CAD for the entry SL trim. The rollout will occur in phases, with the Armada NISMO arriving in late 2026, followed by the Dark Armor models in early 2027.
