10 – Fiat 850 City Taxi concept 1968
The Fiat 850 City Taxi was introduced at the Turin auto show in 1968. The aim behind this design study was to create a vehicle able to transport three passengers and their luggage in urban settings – hence its narrow and high frame. It featured a rear bench and a single seat for the driver in front.
15 patents in all were filed for this car, which was perhaps just a little too innovative for its time. It never advanced beyond the concept stage.
