1960 Pontiac Catalina Safari

Whenever I see a 1960 Pontiac, I’m overcome with a sense of nostalgia, as this model was my first contact with the world of classic cars. And we're talking about a vintage that’s become extremely rare to see still in circulation. Add to that that this is a Safari wagon version and you have the perfect storm of rarity.

In 1960, 35,402 family versions identical to the one you see here were made - 14,149 with a nine-seat configuration and 21,253 with a six-seat approach. The former cost $3207, $108 more than the latter.

It’s no surprise we included this model. Any Ford Anglia is certainly a rare model on North American soil since we're talking about a creation of Ford's English division. Of course, a fair number of them were imported here at the time, but 60 years later, they're understandably starting to become very rare indeed. The model we saw was in superb condition.
