6. Toyota Tundra
Back in 2007, Toyota launched a major – and very expensive – offensive to hoist its Tundra to the level of the big boys ruling the full-size pickup segment. The strategy paid off, sales of the model fairly exploding.
Although, the gap between the Big Three U.S. manufacturers and everyone else is so gigantic that even the gains it made still leave the Tundra far behind.
Over the years Toyota has refined its Tundra to the point where it refers to the 2014 edition as the debut of the model’s latest generation. Either way, it’s clear there’s still work to do before substantial masses of consumers are convinced.
On the other hand, this is the most reliable product in the segment. That counts for something, especially if you need a durable workhorse.
