8th place: 2023 Volkswagen Taos Trendline 4Motion $26,995 + $2,077 (fees)
Last year, Volkswagen's Taos was just outside the top 10, good enough for an honorable mention but no more. In 2023, the discontinuation of some models sends it up the charts, and so we find at least one German representative in the list.
This is good news for Volkswagen top brass; the automaker is looking to make as much profit as possible from its combustion-engine vehicles to fund its ambitious transition to electric mobility.
