Hyundai Kona Electric
From the moment of its introduction to the market for the 2020 model-year, the Kona urban crossover from Korean automaker Hyundai found a lot of very welcoming arms, nowhere more so than in Canada, and it has continued to impress. Not only is the electric version the most dynamic variant in the Kona lineup, it also outperforms all other vehicles in its segment in terms of available torque.
Granted, it has to make do with front-wheel drive, but the Kona Electric is a relatively affordable and fun-to-drive electric model. And its reasonable price makes it eligible for both the federal and provincial (where applicable) incentives.
