The 2006 Molson Grand Prix of Toronto will deliver a long weekend of excitement, as well as a week of fundraising events for the Grand Prix Charitable Foundation of Toronto. "The Molson Grand Prix of Toronto is one of Canada's premier sporting events and is an important part of the city's sports and cultural scene," says Charlie Johnstone, president and CEO, Grand Prix Association of Toronto. "In addition to our new name, look and attitude, we are pleased to be adding new elements to the on and off-track action and bringing back popular favourites like Thunder Alley. The 2006 event promises to be hottest and most exciting event of the summer." More to see and more to do on and off track On the track, race goers will witness Champ Car World Series favourites including Toronto's own Paul Tracy, 2005 Champ Car World Series Champion Sebastien Bourdais, the 2005 Molson Grand Prix of Toronto winner Justin Wilson and the only female driver in the Champ Car World Series Katherine Legge battle it out at the Exhibition Place circuit. Support series races include the premier open-wheel development series, the Champ Car Atlantic Championship, as well as three other series making their first appearance at the Molson Grand Prix of Toronto - the Atto Vintage GT Challenge, Drift Mania and Formula Ford 2000. The GPT Auto Expo presented by 24 Hours will be a new feature at this year's Molson Grand Prix of Toronto that will give visitors an inside look at an urban automotive lifestyle that has to be seen to be believed. Showcasing some of the world finest and most expensive show cars, the GPT Auto Expo will feature tricked-out and tuned-up automobiles, beautiful women and live entertainment. Highlights will include the Grand Tuner World Championship, the Top Gun Basket-Ball Tournament, Battle of the Bands, Canada's Hottest Lingerie and Bikini Contest and B-Boy break dancing exhibition.
