A1 Team USA, headed by former Indy Racing League team owner Rick Weidinger, has announced their involvement in the Indianapolis 500 race on 28 May. source: a1gp.com A1 Team USA will be joining forces with Dreyer and Reinbold Racing, with two times winner Al Unser Jr flying the stars and stripes of the USA. Usually racing for the pride of America in the World Cup of Motorsport, A1 Team USA's participation in the country's most prestigious motorsport event, will highlight their A1 Grand Prix action to the American people ahead of the second season which begins on 1 October. The 'We the People' livery will feature on the Dallara - Honda machine, running in the 90th Indy500. Unser Jr comes from a prestigious Indy500 background. His father was one of the all time greats at the event, leading more laps than any other driver and winning the race four times. Unser Jr has his own impressive record, winning twice - once in 1992 and again in 1994. His second win came under the closest margin of any Indy500, taking first place from Scott Goodyear by 0.043 seconds.
