There will be no time to relax after the weekend of Long Beach, California 11-13th of April, as Alex and the team will be out in Oregon testing only 2 days after the race there. source: tagliani.com The team plans to continue trialing set-up and shock packages at the track during a two day test at the International Raceway. "I like Portland. The track and the scenery around the area are so peaceful," said Tag reminiscing on his last visit, "The Nike Village is there also; that place is huge. It's always good to go on a tour to check out the latest stuff from the sporting giant." Alex is currently using Nike "hi-top" race shoes for driving and Nike Shocks for training, and likes to visit the place where the shoes are made and the development is done. "The people at Nike really are very
talented and they work hard to produce a high quality product that is great to
use." The Champ Cars will not race in Portland until late in June, but a few teams are expected at the test there in the next fortnight. "Everyone has different things to test,
but we are all trying to get the best times and set-up for our car; it is an
advantage for the race there if you already know what to run." It should be a quiet couple of days for the
crew, "we are planning on testing our new toys (RC cars) out the back of the
track in the dirt, but I need to learn how to drive all over again.
This is a new skill for me (Alex laughs) I think the guys are going to
kick my butt! I don't need speed
yet, I need control!" All fun and games put aside, it will be the perfect opportunity for the team to work together before the trip overseas to Europe in May. "We are a young team now, but everyday things are coming together more, I can only see us getting stronger."
