Premat Quickest Again and Moreau Close Behind source: conquestracing.com After topping the timing sheet yesterday, despite doing only 15 laps, Frenchman Alex Premat was back on track aboard the Mi-Jack Conquest Racing Lola today at MSR Houston along with fellow Frenchman Guillaume Moreau in the team's second car. For their first time in a Champ Car both drivers didn't disappoint. Premat, was once again the quickest of the drivers on site and he was followed very closely by Moreau. Premat, an A1GP champion, a GP2 driver and an F1 test driver only had good things to say about his day with the Conquest Team and about the car. "I'm very happy with how my test went. The car is so good to drive, it's completely different than an F1 car but really good to drive. I was impressed by the stability of the car and I thought it was a lot of fun being behind the wheel of it. I'm really happy to have done a test in Champ Car. I think the Series is incredible and the mechanics are great. I hope to not only be in Champ Car next year but to be with the Conquest Team. They did such a great job and it was a pleasure to work with them." Also enjoying his experience with the Team was Guillaume Moreau who raced in the F3 Euro Series this past season. "It was a good day for me but a little difficult physically. It's a big gap between an F3 car and a Champ Car, they are so powerful. I had a lot to learn in a short time. I was pushing a lot and at the end I was a little tired and couldn't take advantage of the good track conditions. That was a little disappointing but overall it was great. The car is fantastic and I like this category of racing a lot. The Conquest Team was very professional to work with and I hope to have the chance to work with them again." The drivers were not the only ones happy with the test. Eric Bachelart, co-owner of the Mi-Jack Conquest Team was more than pleased with the performance put in by the two Frenchmen. "Alex and Guillaume did an outstanding job. They were both quick and worked really well together. They definitely showed that they have the potential to be in Champ Car next year. Unfortunately Guillaume was tired at the end of the day, which just goes to show how physical this sport really is, and he was unable to improve his lap time but he still did a great job. Not only were they good on track. It was a pleasure to work with them and seeing their reaction, I think they also enjoyed themselves these last two days. The team and the engineers also did some excellent work. It was our first visit at MSR with our Champ Car team and we collected important data that will help us for the Open Test here in February."
