Jan Heylen: 'Champ Car at Circuit Zolder; this must surely be the best news Belgian motorsport has received for many years. The team at Zolder are highly professional and comprised of both permanent staff and volunteers and all are working in the right direction, not forgetting the promoter who has also proved himself time and again. With a full season of the Champ Car behind me, I think it is a fantastic thought of a Grand Prix at Zolder. For me it is like a home game, and I'm hoping for overcrowded grandstands and with a seat in the right team I believe we can get great results and give my home crowd something to cheer about. The preparations have been going on for a while now and I am pleased to have been able to help and contribute to bring this event together and now that it has been finalised we can start the countdown...'
