Committed to Champ Car and Le Mans source: f1.racing-live.com / Earl ALEXANDER / © CAPSIS International Winning the Rookie title and then three straight Champ Car titles has not been enough to open Formula One door for Sebastien Bourdais who is now resigned to the fact that his hopes of moving to Formula One are effectively over. With a staggering 23 wins from 59 starts, the Frenchman is now looking to continue his success in the Champ Car World Series and also hopes to add a Le Mans success to his titles in French F3, F3000 and Champ Car. Reuters report that Bourdais has effectively given up on Formula One. "It's frustrating but there are loads of talented drivers who never went to F1," he told L'Equipe. "One can always say it's unfair but that's F1, and it's never been fair. " Bourdais is believed to have had some offer on the table regarding testing deals in F1, but naturally, he was unwilling to give up his Newman/Haas ride without any guarantees of racing. The 75th running of the classis Le Mans 24 Hour race takes place on June 16 - 17 and therefore is a possibility for Bourdais next year as this falls between the Portland and Cleveland rounds of the Champ Car World Series. Both Peugeot and Pescarolo Sport have been linked to running Bourdais at Le Mans.
